Position Title: Fire Chief

Position Description: The Town of Goffstown, NH (pop. 17,937) seeks a full-time Fire Chief to oversee a department of 16 full-time employees and 38 on-call and part-time members with a Fire/EMS budget of $2.82 million. The department provides fire suppression and prevention services, code enforcement, hazardous materials responses, rescue operations and emergency medical services (EMS). The department receives an average of 2,450 calls for service annually. The preferred candidate will have completed a minimum of 12 years of full-time FD experience or equivalent of 16 years active status on a fire department call force, with at least 5 years of command experience, and BA/BS required; master’s preferred. A strong administrative background, strong written and oral communication skills, experience managing a full-time/call fire department, EMS, emergency management and contract negotiation experience are desired.
