The Goffstown Select Board and Fire Chief Shawn Murray are pleased to announce the promotion of Bill Connor to Captain of the Department’s Division of Community Risk Reduction, effective June 1, 2023. Captain Connor has served the Goffstown Fire Department for 42 years, with the last 27 years serving as a Fire Lieutenant and as the Town’s Fire Inspection Officer.
In Captain Connor’s new role, he will manage the Department’s Division of Community Risk Reduction. He will oversee plan review, construction inspections, and fire investigations; direct the administration of adopted fire code compliance and code development; and supervise Department personnel, both at the stations and at the scene of emergency and non-emergency activity.
Captain Connor grew up in Goffstown and has lived here most of his life. He is a graduate of Goffstown High School, NH Technical Institute with a degree in Architectural Engineering, and the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program. The captain is nationally credentialed through the Center for Public Safety Excellence as a Fire Marshal.
The captain and his wife Nancy have lived in Goffstown for over 25 years. Captain Connor has two adult children, Brad and Jenn, as well as 4 ½ grandkids.
