Spring Programs:
Girls 8U Instructional Lacrosse: Grades 1 & 2
Instructional Lacrosse is open to girls ages 7 & 8. This will be an instructional program where all rules of the game will be taught. We will focus on skill development through many different drills and fun games as well as team games against each other. The focus will be on learning, fun, and sportsmanship. Girls participants will need to provide a stick and protective eye goggles. Participants will also need to purchase a team reversible pinney to wear at practices and games.
Fee: $40 Residents/$50 Non-Resident Registration Deadline:3/25/19
Boys 8U Instructional Lacrosse: Grades 1 & 2
Instructional Lacrosse is open to boys ages 7 & 8. This will be an instructional program where all rules of the game will be taught. We will focus on skill development through many different drills and fun games as well as team games against each other. The focus will be on learning, fun, and sportsmanship. Boys Participants will need to provide their own protective equipment: Helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, mouth guard and stick. Participants will also need to purchase a team reversible pinney to wear at practices and games.
Fee: $40 Residents/$50 Non-Resident Registration Deadline: 3/25/19
Girls Lacrosse:
Available age groups: 10U (Grades 3/4), 12U (Grades 5/6), and 14U (Grades 7/8)
Girls lacrosse is open to all girls ages 9-14, teams will be dependent on player registration. All players will be assigned to a team dependent upon player registration and age. This is a competitive travel program yet we will stress skill development, sportsmanship, and fun. All abilities are invited to participate. Games will be played on Sundays with practices throughout the week. All participants must provide their own protective equipment: for girl’s goggles and mouth guard. Participants will also need to purchase a team reversible pinney to wear at practices and games. The program will begin mid-April.

Boys Lacrosse
Available age groups: 10U (Grades 3/4), 12U (Grades 5/6), and 14U (Grades 7/8)

Summer Programs
Swim Lessons
Swim lessons are based on learning the fundamentals of swimming at various levels while still having fun. Group lessons are available with five different levels to choose from. Different skills will be introduced at various levels depending on the child’s age and ability. Class space is limited-registration is taken on a first come basis. Classes will take place in July. Swim lessons will be 1/2 hour in length, assigned times will be determined when registrations are complete. Lesson times could be between 9:00 am - 12:30 pm depending upon the number of registrants. Participants may only sign up for 1 session.
Swim Level Descriptions:

POLLIWOG: For swimmers who are afraid of the water.

STARFISH: For individuals who still have trouble swimming the width of the pool and might need a bubble.

ADVANCED BEGINNER: This class will focus on mastering the front crawl and the beginning phases of the back crawl. Must be able to have head, face, and ears submerged in the water.

INTERMEDIATE: This class will focus on all the major strokes and survival skills.

SWIMMER: this is the highest level. Individuals at this level will have to be able to stand the endurance of all four strokes and understand the survival methods.
There are two different sessions offered at both Barnard and Roy Park. Swim lesson takes place every day Monday through Friday for two weeks, totaling 10 lessons. Minimum age of participation is 5 and the maximum age is 13, cutoff dates for the ages can be found on RecDesk.

Summer Playground Program:
The summer playground program is a fun filled 8-week program offered every summer. Arts & Crafts, outdoor games, quiet games, and various different activities are offered daily. In addition, participants will swim every day. Weekly special events will include tie-dye day, Summer Survivor Challenge, pickleball tournaments, dodgeball tournaments, and candy bar Olympics. Weekly special events will take place on Fridays with combined activities with both Barnard & Roy Parks. This program is offered Monday-Friday from 8:30am-4pm. Participants may register week by week for the sessions they choose. The Summer Playground Program is scheduled to start the end of June and run for 8 weeks. These dates are subject to change as the school calendar changes.
All participants who choose to register for the 2019 Summer Playground Program must fill out a 2019 registration form, 2019 health history form, and an emergency release form. All forms are able to be completed online by enrolling in the free “Health Forms 2019” program on RecDesk. Forms are also available as downloadable PDFs under the forms tab also on RecDesk. Please mail all completed forms with program deposit to Parks and Recreation to Parks and Recreation, 16 Main Street, Goffstown NH 03045. All completed forms must be received by the registration deadline. A $25 deposit per week is required to secure your weekly registration with the balance due 2 weeks prior to your first registered week of camp. Scholarships are available, contact program supervisor for more information.

Fall Programs
Growin’ Grizzles Soccer
This is an exciting class to introduce the basic soccer skills to children in Kindergarten. We will develop kicking, dribbling, passing, fundamentals of the game as well as social interaction skills. This program is coed and will last for 5 weeks, there is a morning session and an afternoon session. Registration for this program will be done through our online RecDesk system.

Youth Soccer: Girls and Boys Grades 1 through 4
This program will teach the fundamentals of the game through fun games, skill-building activities, and competitions. We will also focus on good sportsmanship and having fun. This program is coed and will last for 6 weeks. 1st and 2nd grade will play together and 3rd and 4th grade will play together. Registration for this program will be done through our online RecDesk system.

Growin' Grizzlies Floor Hockey
This is an exciting class to introduce the basic gym games to children in Kindergarten. This session will focus on floor hockey skills cooperative play as well as social interaction skills. This class will take place on Tuesday with a morning and afternoon session, the class is limited to 10 participants per session. Floor Hockey will run for 4 weeks from October to November. Look for more Growin’ Grizzlies programs throughout the year.

Winter Programs
Coed Instructional Basketball: Grades 1 and 2
This will be an instructional/fundamental program with lowered basketball hoops (8.5’) for both girls and boys in 1st and 2nd grade. We will focus on fundamentals, fun, and the understanding of the game. We will take a maximum of 80 players with 10 players on each team. Once the season begins we will have a 20-minute practice followed by a 40-minute game each Sunday. All registration forms must be completed prior to participation in team selection. Girls Jr. Basketball: Grades 3, 4, & 5
This program is for girls in grades 3, 4 & 5. It is an instructional yet competitive program all abilities are invited to participate. All aspects of the game will be taught in a fun and instructional environment. There will be a 1-hour practice during the week and a practice on Saturday morning before the season begins. Games will begin in December. All girls will be assigned to a team as long as they register by the deadline. All registrations must be completed prior to participation in team selection. Girls Sr. Basketball: Grades 6, 7, & 8

High School Basketball: Grades 9-12
This is a competitive basketball program for boys in grades 9-12. Players will be assigned to a team; 4 teams are needed for this league. Games will begin in late December. All registrations must be completed prior to participation in team selection. Financial aid is available, contact the Parks and Recreation Office for further information.

Men’s 18+ Basketball
This is a competitive basketball program for men ages 18 and older. Practices and games will take place on Thursday evenings at Mountain View Middle School (Sunday dates could possibly be added based on need). All participants will be assigned to a team with a schedule of 12 regular-season games, the schedule will start in October and run through February.

Activity Period
Activity Period is a fun-filled program where we will play traditional and non-traditional gym games in a fun-filled atmosphere. Games will include Floor Hockey, Kickball, Dodgeball, Wiffle Ball, White Knight and many more. This program is available for grades 1-2 and 3-4 at both Maple Ave and Bartlett Elementary Schools. The activity period will take place after school, once per week, for 10 weeks. Space is limited to 20 participants per age grouping.
