Town Pools


The town pools at Barnard and Roy will be open for the 2021 summer season on June 21st. Both pool areas include pool decks for sitting or lying as well as bathrooms.

When attending the pool masks will not be required. We ask that you respectfully space yourself 3’ to 6’ from other pool goers on the deck. Pool attendees will need to supply their own chairs, towels, etc. Please read the rest of the pool guidelines below before visiting one of our locations.

Barnard Park

Barnard Park is a large sized L shape pool that is multi-depth including a 12’ deep end with a diving board.

Roy Park

Roy Park has a modest sized rectangular pool that is multi-depth including a 12’ deep end.

Pool Guidelines:

Lifeguard MUST BE obeyed at all times, failure to comply will result in expulsion from the facility.

COVID:

  • Masks will not be required at our facilities, but you may wear one on the deck if you so choose. The CDC warns against the dangers of swimming with masks on and it will therefore not be allowed.

  • If you are feeling sick, please remain home.

  • When on the pool deck please place yourself and your belongings 3’ to 6’ from other pool goers.

  • Attendees will need to supply their own chairs, towels, floatation devices, etc.

Behavior:

  • No running anywhere in the pool area

  • No roughhousing in the pool or surrounding pool area.

  • No screaming or yelling. This can distract lifeguards from real emergencies.

  • Swimmers must swim in designated areas at the lifeguard’s discretion

Swim Attire:

  • Only hygienic attire specifically designated for swimming will be allowed

  • T-shirts and cut-off shirts are NOT to be worn in pool water. Swim shirts are permitted.

  • Cloth or disposable diapers are NOT PERMITTED in the pools. Swim diapers are allowed.

  • Any swimwear that may lead to personal endangerment or entrapment will NOT be permitted.

  • Children requiring floatation assistance may wear a coast guard approved swimsuit/vest. A parent or guardian must be in the water –Shallow end only—with any child wearing this type of device AT ALL TIMES. The above listed floatation device must be properly fitting.

POOL STAFF WILL HAVE FINAL JUDGMENET IN ALL DECISIONS CONCERNING HELATH AND SAFETY ISSUES REGARDING SWIMWEAR.
