Program Description

Goffstown Parks and Recreation lacrosse is open to all boys and girls ages 7-14. Teams will be created based on players age and registration numbers, boys and girls will play separately. This is a competitive travel program that stresses skill development, sportsmanship, and fun. All abilities are invited to participate, there are no tryouts. Non-residents are able to participate, only in the event that the town/city in which they reside is not offering a lacrosse program.

The 8U instructional programs consists of one practice per week. During these practices players will learn the basic rules and technique to lacrosse. There is the potential for the 8U programs to scrimmage against local 8U town programs as well.

The 10U, 12U, and 14U age divisions will play in the NH Youth Lacrosse Association (NHYLA) league with other teams from throughout the state. Games are played on Sundays with practices throughout the week (Monday through Friday). Practice day and time will be determined by the coaches of each team, but the practices will begin no earlier than 6pm. Home games will be played at one of our field complexes in Goffstown and away games will be at varying locations throughout NH.

Youth lacrosse, all age groups, will begin in late March/ early April and will go until June.

**This program will not interfere with the middle school program, so players are able to play for both programs.**

All participants must provide their own gear and protective equipment. For girls that consists of: a lacrosse stick, goggles, and mouth guard. For boys that consists of a lacrosse stick, helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves and mouth guard.

Team uniforms will be supplied by the Parks and Recreation department and will be loaned out to each player for the season. Jerseys are to be returned to the department at the end of the season. Failure to return the jersey will result in a replacement fee. There will be a uniform agreement included as part of the registration.
