Art in the Park

Join program supervisor Erin Trnka at Barnard Park on Wednesdays for various art and craft activities! Both morning and afternoon sessions will be available, for an hour each, beginning July 22nd. We can only allow 12 children per time slot, between the ages of 6 and 13. This is a free program and available for Goffstown residents only. Each week there will be a designated craft/activity but there is also the option to do a more basic coloring activity instead if they so choose.

Week 1— 7/22: Sidewalk Chalk and Origami

Week 2— 7/29: Sand Art

Week 3— 8/5: Beads, Necklaces, and Friendship Bracelets

Week 4—8/12: Tie Dye

Week 5— 8/19: Painting (pictures, puzzle, wooden plaque, etc.)

COVID-19 Guidelines and Precautions

The health and safety of those who participate in our programs is our top priority. We want to make sure that you feel comfortable having your children participate in any programs that we run.

Here are the steps that we are taking to keep them safe:

  • All tables will be wiped and sanitized before and after each session.

  • Health screens will be performed before each session. Any child who does not pass the health screen will be unable to participate in the activity that day. This health screen includes:

    • Temperature Check—done with a no contact thermometer, recorded for reference. Anyone will a temperature above 100.4 will be unable to participate.

    • Symptom Check—participants will be asked if they are experience any of the COVID-19 symptoms (cough, fever, or shortness of breath)

    • Question/Answer—

      • Have you or anyone in your family had any close contact with someone who is suspected or confirmed to have had COVID-19 in the past 14 days.

      • Traveled in the past 14 days either: Internationally (outside the U.S.), by cruise ship, or (within the U.S.) outside of NH,

    • The instructor will wear a mask and gloves. Masks are not required for the participant, but will be available if they would like to wear one.

    • All participants will have their own materials, so there will be no sharing or hand contact. As listed above the instructor will be wearing gloves when distributing materials or assisting a participant.

    • Tables will only hold two participants at a time and they will be seated 6ft apart on opposite sides of the tables. If the activity is not done at a table, all participants will be directed to spots that are at a safe social distance away from those around them.

    • Parents/guardians who bring the child to the session are encouraged to stay in their vehicles for the session unless they choose to use the facilities at the park.

Registration for Art in the Park is available on our RecDesk website.

Time slots are set to an hour and a half; this is to allow for the health screenings pre-program. With that being said, you do not need to arrive to your session early. Arrive at 10 for the AM session and 1pm for the PM session.
